Kidney Week Session:
The Patient Journey with Diabetic Kidney Disease

November 3, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm EDT

Diabetic Kidney Disease Collaborative.

Date: Thursday, November 3 @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm EDT

Session Description:
This session documents the patient journey with diabetic kidney disease (DKD), from awareness and detection to interventions that save lives, kidneys, and hearts. Based on the best available clinical evidence, discussions about how to provide holistic care also include patient perspectives and priorities. Lectures describe healthy lifestyle choices and individualized approaches to applying drug therapies (ACE inhibitors and ARBs, SGLT2 inhibitors, GLP-1 receptor agonists, and a nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid antagonist).
ASN gratefully acknowledges Wadi N. Suki, MD, for support of the Garabed Eknoyan, MD, Endowed Lectureship.
