Session Description

Home dialysis has become more and more available for our patients, but still a low percentage of patients engage in home dialysis. This session explores why, and how awareness among providers and patients can improve home dialysis.

• Explain the difference between short daily hemodialysis (SDHD) and nocturnal hemodialysis (NHD)
• Describe a patient’s perception of home dialysis
• Articulate the difference between continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) vs. automated peritoneal dialysis (APD)
• Analyze the reasons behind attrition rates of home dialysis and how to make changes
