In 2020, the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) convened AKINow as a longitudinal initiative to promote excellence in the prevention and treatment of AKI. AKINow’s interests span fundamental research, provider education, and patient advocacy. This perspective piece in Kidney360 describes current efforts of AKINow’s Basic Science Workgroup to foster innovation in AKI research.
