Excellence in Patient Care (EPC) focuses on ASN’s clinical priorities to provide high-quality care for people with kidney diseases.

Through all its projects, EPC embraces three aims:

  1. To ensure all people with kidney diseases receive the best evidence-based care possible.
  2. To champion patient experiences, preferences, and values by actively engaging people with kidney diseases in EPC activities.
  3. To advance equitable access to high-quality kidney care by promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion and pursuing health care justice.

Measles FAQs

As of October 1, 2025, a total of 1,523 confirmed measles cases were reported by 42 states and jurisdictions. EPC has created a frequently asked questions (FAQs) resource about measles (Rubeola). This resource can assist health care professionals who care for people living with kidney diseases as well as medical practitioners seeking information about multi-drug-resistant organisms.

Introducing the Glomerular Diseases Compendium

Stay ahead in Glomerular Disease (GD) care with direct access to the latest research and treatment resources. The Glomerular Diseases Compendium offers the kidney health community an open-access hub to find the latest research, clinical guidance, drug-specific treatment resources, and patient education materials to improve patient outcomes.

AKINow Journal Club: Xenotransplantation of a Porcine Kidney for ESKD Tuesday, December 16, 2025

Amandeep Bajwa, PhD and Leslie Gewin, MD moderated a discussion on an article from the New England Journal of Medicine about the xenotransplantation of a porcine kidney into an ESKD patient. One of the authors of the paper, Leonardo V. Riella, MD, PhD, FASN, FAST, presented a summary of the article and take questions submitted by AKI Journal Club registrants.
