Core Interventions for the Prevention of Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)-Related Infections

Overview

The peritoneal dialysis (PD) core interventions are practice recommendations designed to prevent infections associated with PD, including peritonitis, exit-site infections, and tunnel infections. These interventions serve as a framework for dialysis facilities caring for people undergoing PD. The interventions are grounded in current evidence and international clinical practice guidelines, with input from a diverse group of stakeholders.

The PD core interventions are available as a manuscript published in the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (CJASN), and on this ASN webpage dedicated to supporting the PD core interventions with FAQs and resources.
