Are you “tornado ready”? The regions of the United States where tornadoes occur more frequently are shifting east. A 2021 study of the change in the number of days favorable to tornado formation found that areas around the Mississippi River and to the east of the Appalachian Mountains saw the largest increases.  The Center for Disaster Philanthropy website provides valuable information about the history of tornado activity in the United States and Ready.gov provides helpful tornado preparedness and response guidance.
